April 30 Reminders

Hello Wolves!

We are coming close to our last competition and we have a lot of work to do.  But first, thank you for those who participated in our lunch performance.  It was a big Hit!!!!!!
Here are some important reminders:

1. Turn in your YPI slips today!!! It is out of my control if you do not turn paperwork in today.  Christina has been given a deadline and she must meet it.  Those who do not turn in your forms will not be allowed to participate.  
2. Banquet money due at student store now.  Last day to turn in money for students and family will be May 15th.  
3. All banquet scrapbooks due next Friday.
4. No food or drinks in gym. Only Water!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT VNSO!!!! We will be having a one day clinic at VNSO during the summer.  We need volunteers to work this clinic as a cheer camp counselor. We will plan activities that include games, stunts, cheers, dance, pool time, and more! Please see coach for more info.  (Volunteer hours will be given)

Today's Competition Practice

Hello Wolves!
Today's Practice will remain the same. If you miss you will be pulled out of the routine. Unfortunately, we do not have the luxury to miss competition practices due to time. We compete next Saturday. If attendance becomes a problem I will need to cancel our last competition.

Cheer Updates

Hello Wolves!

• There will be a cheer performance at lunch this Wednesday in the Big Gym.  Cheer must get out of 4th period 10-15 minutes before the bell rings to warmup.  
• Competition May 9th at Roybal High School 1200 Colton St, Los Angeles, CA. 90026. Everyone must meet at 8AM at Van Nuys High School.  There will be a bus provided by YPI and every student must ride the bus.  
• Scrapbooks are due this week, please!
• $40/person due now for banquet  at the student store.   Last day to deposit money will be May 15th.  Friends and Family are encouraged to attend banquet.
• FAIR WARNING! Students who miss practice without a parent noticed will not be allowed to compete and possibly attend banquet. 
• I need volunteers to work at the recreation centers as cheer coaches.  Community service hours will be provided.  Talk to Coach Maria for more info. 
• Volunteer coach also needed at St Elisabeth on Wednesdays from 3:45-5:15PM

Tryouts Cancelled

Today's Tryouts have been cancelled due to safety reasons. The next tryouts will be in May. I apologize for the inconvenience!

McCheer Night! (Reminders)

Thank you all who supported the VNHS Cheer Team! Here are some reminders:

• 10 Banquet Scrapbooks are due this Friday
• Banquet scheduled for Sunday, May 24th ($40/Person)
• Cheer tryouts April 24th  4-5PM
• Summer Camp at WCC Dates TBA

I am planning to take 12 cheerleaders to an away camp this summer.  I will chose the top 12 depending on their performance, commitment, determination, and grades.  The others will be scheduled a home camp.  

Last call for picture orders...  Frank Morales is collecting the last picture orders this week.  Please make sure you turn in those orders in an envelope with your full name and order number.

NRG Waiver Forms

Parents/Guardians! There are still some medical release forms missing please print one out and give it to coach tomorrow in the morning.  Here is the website to get a copy of the waiver:

Competition Schedule

Hello Wolves!

Tomorrow we are meeting at 6AM at Van Nuys High School.  We will leave Van Nuys at 7:30AM to register the team.  Van Nuys Cheer is up at 11:40AM.

Hair: curled, bump, and lots of hair spray
Makeup: Black eye liner, silver inside and red along the eyeliner, blush, and red lipstick.
Uniform: Shell, liner, skirt, briefs, bow, white ankle socks, cheer shoes.
No nail polish please…

Pool Party

Great job cheer!

In appreciation of our hard work we will end our spring training with a pool party. But first we will meet at school and practice from 9-11:45pm in the small gym. Then we will head over to the pool house at Valerie's aunt house 6557 greenbush ave, van nuys ca 91401.
